@thor it's a minor pet peeve of mine when people connect clean shaved bodies with pedophilia. We're humans, our entire thing is not having hair besides the head, most people like the clean skin look of shaved face, armpits, legs and whatever else, why would the same not be true about naughty bits? Connecting preferring lack of hair there with pedophilia because children don't have them is like connecting preferring having hair there with zoophilia because animals have them.

To be fair I think it is completely valid to say that the human instinct to be attracted to hairlessness is completely a pre-historic hold-over from when cavemen used to rape women, and there was genetic pressure to prefer younger women... Now to say you are a pedophile if you like that is just wrong.. but I do think the sexual preference is absolutely tied in with prehistoric tendency towards pedophilia... this is just our way as a more evolved species to indulge in our primal preferences WITHOUT it actually being pedophilia. And we are so far removed from it I dont think anyone who has that preference is also a pedophile, I doubt the thought of small children even crosses their mind.
@freemo or at some point of our evolution preferring less hairy mates had enough of an evolutionary advantage (sweating, endurance, compatibility with temperature and clothing changes, the like) for the preference to embed in our gene pool enough to be still active today. Or it might be a social adaptation due to the shaved people usually being richer and better off since they were the ones that had the time, resources and will to do it. There's a lot of potential explanations that don't even encroach on pedophilia.

If it were not about age but rather about advantages of hairlessness then I think we would see naturally hairless adults, which is virtually nonexistant. The very fact that it strictly follows an age boundary I think makes a clear indication it is about age.
We also see this in other aspects, where child-like traits are selected for (such as women who are physically tiny).

Actually we have the same amount of hair follicals as our ancestors (chimpanzees)... our hair just isnt as noticable (not as dark or thick).. but thats another matter.
