The trader was very rich and he seethed with anger towards the king, so he vowed revenge. But he did not hire mercenaries to overthrow the king, instead he hired bards and had them mock the king in every public square.
The king learned of this and dispatched his bravest knight to the nearby realm.
The knight returned with the trader's head and there was no further trouble.
