# ROKR wooden 3D puzzles
Very nice wooden cut-out puzzles to assemble. Some of their models are just to assemble, but some are mechanically functional pieces. I find it very exciting. This is a bookmark for future reference. Useful as gifts for my future self :-).
* [ROKR Company page](https://rokrpuzzles.com/)
* they have a Amazon webshop
@trinsec not really puzzles - you get a manual - I guess they call them that way for a lack of better marketing term. Either way it's fun to assemble (especially with kids) and looks good as a standalone piece afterwards too. Eventually I'd like to get one of those mechanically functional.
@FailForward Don't know which came first but there's also an Ukraine-based company called Ugears

@nagpossum Thanks a lot for the pointer. These look really elaborate. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a single little factory in China selling in bulk to several outlets like these...
@FailForward I don't think so. The main selling point is really the time and effort spent in designing and prototyping these models. At this moment haven't seen these being sold at different outlet. That said, it is difficult but not impossible to steal the ideas. It is true that once you have the model (digitally) you can feed it into CNC laser cutter and make as many as you like. So I would not be surprise in a couple of years it might caught the eye by some Chinese copycat company which starts churning out them out en masse.
@nagpossum you are right. I checked their Kickstarter and these Ugear people seem to be the genuine deal. In contrast, ROKR website is rather opaque and the only mention who they are is in their terms and conditions: probably from Israel. Either way, after I checked, the Ugear models seem to be much more interesting and elaborate. Thanks again for the link, I appreciate.
@FailForward no problem!
@FailForward Those are /puzzles/? I'd love to do this!
