What's the highest performing processor/SoC an open source hardware+software computer could be made on?
I'm fine with the chip itself not being open hardware or running nonfree microcode, but apparently an average Joe can't even have the documentation enough to make a motherboard for x86 or a good ARM SoC.

@L29Ah Youa re asking the most powerful one that is simple enough for a non-expert to design around basically? So no traditional CPUs so basically just SoC not processors in general?

@L29Ah Well, for making an useful and powerful computer you must be able to design DRAM and PCIe lanes at least, and with such skills processors are also an option AFAIU.
