Just reread this. If it was lidded, it probably maintained the partial pressure of chlorine over the water column....Open cover or aeration.....Best of luck!

@MessengerFlats Ah ty, I’ll remember that advice. Yeah I did let it sit for 4 days but no luck, maybe lid was on too tight or the ginger itself wasn’t taking. Tried another ginger batch and some bottled water and this seems to be up and rocking straight away. Excited!
