Ugh. Max/TCM added a 3-minute introduction "contextualizing" the racist language in Blazing Saddles to the beginning of the movie.

If you can't tell the racists are the bad guys in Blazing Saddles without some lady telling you, you probably aren't smart enough to be watching satire in the first place.

I think everyone knows that Hollywood was even more racist in the 1970s than they are now.

@Pat Well, yeah, but in this case, the movie is specifically about the follies of racism.
