The only thing more chickenshit than a cable personality/journalist asking a question prefaced with “people are saying…” is a cable personality/journalist prefacing a question with “what do you say to people who say…”

What’s wrong with owning your questions? What’s wrong with being direct? How about saying “why do you contend that…” or “you have been quoted as saying…what exactly do you mean by that?” How about “I hear you saying XYZ but I observe you doing ABC…why is that?”

@SpinozasHeresy It's way easier to call oneself a "journalist" than to actually be one. That includes a lot of people who actually get paid now as if they were journalists.

@SpinozasHeresy this is just a wild guess, but I bet they have some kind of "stop making us liable for unproven data" cheatsheet given to them from their networks law department to protect them from the responsibility in saying things that sensationalize the limited perspectives that target time slot demographics.. but just to prove I'm actually a dick, if you don't like it, you don't have to watch it 🤷 and if your goal is to be informed, just collectively gather data regardless of bias, and do a differential reduction and read the remainder. 👍
