This seems like such an inconsequential policy idk why people are fighting about it.
It's literally just legalese. What effect does it have on the real world?
@light Fighting back against people that want to do harm is important. Everything you allow is a new standard set, a basis for more drastic action.
Nazis didn't put jewish people into concentration camps first, the first step was marking them. I expect similar here.
@admitsWrongIfProven How is marking official documents by the biological sex of their bearers going to lead to putting them in concentration camps?
@light It does not lead to, it is a step fascists perform.
"Lead to" would mean it naturally follows, but the ostracization is just so nobody will stop the violence that comes later and is a seperate unacceptable decision.
I think you were more sensitive to ostracization in the area of mental health. Would you not say that it erodes safety for the ostracized?
@admitsWrongIfProven I don't see how this is ostracism.

@light Because you neglect to take into account the already started build up of nonsensical conflict. Anyone passing well enough could mostly live their life in peace, if not for the mark. So what good is building senseless conflict if the people willing to engage in it can't spot the "enemy"?
