I am a Research Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center studying aging cognition and Alzheimer's disease.

My research utilizes functional neuroimaging to identify biomarkers and test novel interventions to slow cognitive decline.

@alexconley Hi Alex, I'm very much interested in this subject. After looking into it recently I was somewhat dismayed at seemingly how few options a patient diagnosed with Alzheimer's has.

@backofficeshow It is a definite and growing problem with the increasing prevalence of AD and other dementias.

Part of the problem has been the timing of prior treatment trials, once an individual has a diagnosis of AD, it is very likely too late to halt or reverse. Newer trials are focusing earlier which may yield more positive results. Lots of other factors at play also, it is a complex pathology to combat.
