@barefootstache I've always been confused as to why nano gets made the default I've vi for so many things, because I didn't think it was easier. only recently have I appreciated how much vim has warped my sensibilities--nano *actually* is a better default just for telling you the commands by default

@2ck definitely true if you are not familiar with vi. That's why there is that meme, where the programmer says that today they will exit vi.

Hopefully now that I changed my git config file, such a shock won't happen in the future.

@barefootstache That's not really GNOME: it's a distro decision, but it's done at a lower layer than the desktop.
