Do think #online platforms that sell #books should allow patrons to arrange #search results by order of the number of pages per #book? #Bookstodon #Reading @bookstodon
@bibliolater @bookstodon No. Would lead to gaming in yet another dimension. Meet the 1 page book. Meet the 100,000,000 page book. These exciting new works appear at the top of some queries.... Just encourages a new type of spam.
@peltast @xi_timpin @bookstodon How does a buyer have an indication whether a #book has the required depth of content or value of price without such a metric? #Reading #Books #Bookstodon
@bibliolater: Yeah, that's a really good metric then. Long books with lots of pages are inevitably better than short books. End of.
@xi_timpin It was a question. I do not claim to have all the answers. Thank you for your contribution.
Yes. It's probably an important metric to some people. And what would it hurt? In short, why can't we have it all when it comes being a consumer?
@bibliolater: I'm not convinced that's in any way a useful metric. But maybe it is to someone.
