🔴 If you are leaving Twitter/X why would you want to go to another platform similar to it?
@bibliolater Two main reasons.
1. People don't learn. Like, ever.
2. In the social media life, people go where other people go.
The first reason is just sad. Depressing.
The second one is understandable. People tend to try and keep their social bonds.
@undefined @jorgecandeias What is the likelihood that the second platform chosen will go the way of the first?
@bibliolater just want the same thing without being associated to Musk or Trump
@remidu Is there any guarantee that the new platform will not go the way of the old platform?
This is not the most likely place to find people who can answer to that question.
I assume the reason is because you want the same, 10 years ago.
Of course, that means in 10 years you are going to be exactly in the same place.
But that's the easy, fast solution.
Maybe they assume social networks have a 10-year guarantee, and, after that, they break and you have to look for another one.
