The sheer amount of stuff I need to do, to take out the dashboard is really starting to take its toll on my motivation...
Especially given that it all needs to go back in as well...

This is the kind of shit, that makes it so expensive to repair basic things in cars.
And this one is still considered "easy to work on"...

In total, it took me over 8 hours to take out the climate control unit.

That'd be easily 400 in just labour wages were I working for a garage.
I understand that a professional mechanic may do it a bit faster but still the point stands... It took way too much time and effort to get through all the cables and stuff.

I wish manufacturers would make simple cars again without all kinds of electronic bullcrap...
Oh wait, Daddy EU doesn't allow that "because safety and environment"...

i literally only want the barebones toyota pickup thingy which costs $10000, but that will never be sold in the EU

@bonifartius @finlaydag33k That would be cool, I like those smaller trucks, high torque in a small package. Wish we could also get the newer Hilux trucks here in the US too.

Things are changing, depending on which State in the US, for small and foreign truck imports. Hopefully, Europe opens up options too in the near future.

@bonifartius @JSkier @finlaydag33k I had had a once over about recent regulations. What the actual fuck. These people are retarded.

@white_male @finlaydag33k @JSkier well, there is a crash black box and automatic speed control and some automatic calls on crashes.. not far until kill switches and telemetry once the hardware is in place.
