REALLY getting their mileage out of the Overwatch product placement money there

Ready Player One (film)

@theoutrider I still need to read the book. How was the movie?

Ready Player One (film)

@cambridgeport90 nowhere near as awful as I've been told the book was but still not fantastic

Ready Player One (film)

@theoutrider Who told you the book was awful? LOL

Ready Player One (film)

@cambridgeport90 I've read some excerpts which were grim, my partner has read the entire thing and repeatedly woke me up in the middle of the night going "AAARGH" at it

Ready Player One (film)

@theoutrider Oh dear. Well then. That's definitely a good piece of sound advice, considering from whom it's coming.

Ready Player One (film)

@cambridgeport90 fundamentally it seems like the film improves on the book by cutting some long boring bits for the purpose of making an exciting film and replaces them with big CG spectacle but it still has the problem of being largely a nonstop pile of ~pop culture references~

Ready Player One (film)

@theoutrider I'm going to have to stick this one on my book list anyways, then. I think it's on there, actually. Will check Goodreads.

Ready Player One (film)

@theoutrider @cambridgeport90 i think it's the only theatrical movie i ever walked out of. but it was when moviepass still worked, so no money invested / wasted.

i probably would have sat it out if gf wasn't peer pressuring me to be my best self
