@freemo I had a weird thing where my laptop kept getting a apipa address, and that's because it took me long enough to figure this out … my DNS servers weren't set up properly, hence the VPN I have with my friend's network segment wasn't seemingly functioning.
@freemo Oddly enough, only Windows uses the Apipa addressing scheme. It does make for a handy way to grab internet, though, when no DHCP server's available.
