Good Morning, #qoto and the #fediverse !
This morning we are plugging the HDDs and SSDs from some of our old laptops into various enclosures and adapters, and looking for interesting forgotten #data to scavenge off of them, while listening to the neighborhood #DwarfFortress #twitch stream (https://www.twitch.tv/jeecktoo).
As it's #caturday , I should take a picture of the #cat! She is currently busy hiding from the #Roomba and might be hard to find...
There is no HDD? Hm. (There's lots of dust for sure!) Maybe I should try to find its proprietary power thing and see if it can boot at all.
@ceoln I took apart the old asus, and could not figure out what was the ssd. I just smashed everything for disposal.

:) Yeah, rly. I'm pretty sure I identified the SSD, but it wasn't readable (most likely why I stopped using it!). And perhaps there just wasn't an HDD.
I always entertain the fantasy of finding some old project that I'd entirely forgotten about on an old HDD or SDD in an old computer, and being delighted. This seldom actually happens! :)

Exactly! Or found documents reminding me that I was Assistant Ambassador to Sweden back in the 90's, and had just forgotten about it!

@hasmis That, too! I distinctly remember thinking about buying some bitcoin when it was cheap! And then I probably didn't bother, but you never know!!

@hasmis I was about to put everything on Red, but I didn't, and then it came up Red! I could have doubled my money! Or was it Black?
Another unreadable SSD? Pheh! Now one suspects the (very inexpensive) enclosure is perhaps insufficiently fancy.
Ah, well... I wonder how the HDD comes out of this old ASUS.
