A shield really changed the night phase of Minecraft! Instead of stealing a villagers bed I can stay out and slay some baddies! 😈
@derickflorian Really? How do you use the shield effectively? I've always found them somewhat cumbersome somehow.
@trinsec it does block your field of view which I didn’t like but is a fair tradeoff. I would generally block the enemy attack and then after use my sword and repeat. It worked really well with spiders and the archers. It didn’t work well enough for me too get too cocky and die eventually haha.
The zombies backing up gradually and attacking worked better than a shield.
@derickflorian Do you have to actively block to actually block? Rightclick, isn't it? Or does it already do a fair job of blocking without you needing to do anything besides carrying it in your offhand?
@trinsec Haha, I need to practice dodging and awareness in general. I am so proud of myself for being able to turn around/escape before being killed when the enemy attacks when not in my field of view.
@derickflorian Thanks! Maybe I should try to do that too, though I'm not really a shields person in general. I prefer to dodge. It doesn't always work out. 😅
