Testing out Pinafore Web client for fediverse...
Check it out at https://pinafore.social/ - just log in with your instance name, and it will request authorization for it, and go to work. Quick.
Wellness Settings, yes please!
@Full_marx might like these!
Snapshot already with my preferred Mastodon Dark colours applied. This client is quite nice.
OMG, it scrolls up and down the feed amazingly FAST.
Colour Choices PLENTY...
There's even an "Ignore all these Content Warnings" timewasters button.
Federated Timeline is static and notifies of New posts at the top. Giving you a chance to actually READ these, not an insanely scrolling marquee of new posts.
I have enabled a "Reduce UI animations" choice in Settings, which might have helped. But this alone is a HUGE improvement compared to the mastodon default web viewer.
@design_RG
i was using this platform for a while and i like it too!
@Sphinx Awesome, I see the "Pinafore" tag on your post too. It's fast and lots of features.
@Sphinx Wonder why your post shows the Pinafore tag, while all of mine above, done via P do not. Sounds odd, but it was smooth and nice.
@Sphinx Awesome, thank you!
@Sphinx I had that seeting enabled, and it shows when I use Tusky to post, but not Pinafore. Oh, well. Minor thing. TY.
@Full_marx Pinafore is quite nice, and amazingly fast, handles the Federated feed with aplomb. Great work.
My only negative note is the hard coded 500 chars post size limit, which they enforce in the post entry box, greying out the Toot button if we go over that.
Maybe we could suggest to them to add a 'check max lentgh' from the user's home instance when they authorize your account with qoto or other instance.
Or have a hard coded list on their side with sizes they know are accepted, by instance. At least for the ones offering larger limits.
@Full_marx Here's a snapshot of Pinafore saying TOO BIG man! :smiley:
Red numbers, grayed out Toot button, no siree bob.
Why? Check the features. Speed might be worth trying?
