so I just tried some imported Bulgarian Feta for the first time.
It was really really good. Still had the sharp taste of feta, and a similar crumbling texture. But it was creamier, you could taste the milkyness just a bit more (even though it was firm like feta).. It had some strange but delicious flavors I couldnt really place.. My whole breakfast was a few cubes of feta and 2 pieces of the jerky I made (trying to go low-carb, maybe keto)... Really nice!
@freemo Feta and Black Olives salad, a fave on the Café at the mid point of some of my rides.
Flavour, Energy, light and easy on digestion. Back on bike and with added energy.
Espresso too, which they made perfect, as expected from an Italian family.
@freemo I so enjoyed discovering surprising new things in the markets, small shops, supermarkets.
Clearly remember arriving into Granada, España, at the end of a long cycling day, mountais up and down.
A Lidl at the side of the road, perfect to get some refreshments.
Bought a few things, big drink bottle to cool down. A 500 mL pot of fruity Yougurt, which turned out to be The BEST I have ever had. The creamyness, the amount of fruit.
Made in Germany, brought to me courtesy of the german owned supermarket chain (it was either an Aldi or a Lidl).
Never forgot the brand, repeated in next year's trips too. "Milbona" for the Win.
@design_RG I do miss traveling, especially the food. My spinal surgery has prevented that for about a year now but thankfully im at the point where full recovery is on the horizon. Just need to lose some weight now and I can back to diving off tropical islands and eating the delicious food again.
There is nothing like a good carribean meal after a long day of deep-sea diving.
@freemo I was emembering this 90 Km of up and down hills in Andalucían countryside, as I approached lovely Granada.
OMG. Travel!!!!
Miss it so. Spring is my favourite time for it, like. Now. But not this year, sadly.
@design_RG There is a literal magic to it for sure.
@design_RG Teh cheese variety in the netherlands was a little lacking, but the quality of what they did have was amazing.
Now italian cheese, they went crazy with their variety, in fact Italy was my favorite all around food destination (Germany my favorite in the meat department).
