Next time you want to frame the rich as evil or the problem for all ills in society remember this statistic. The wealthiest 1.4 percent of Americans are responsible for 86 percent of all charitable donations.

@freemo Dr Freemo as one of my student looking at this topic objectively AND.... I need to add few points.
'Hyper-capitalism and Monopoly share the same flaw. Academics call it the Mathew Effect'.

“Sure, the Trumps might have swindled various tax collectors out of hundreds of millions, but even devoted followers of the news have trouble following a narrative dealing in grantor-retained annuity trusts, illegal loans, dubious gifts, and fraudulent mark-ups of expenses. If only Trump had robbed a bank!”

@drdej555 hypercapitalism is a bit of a simiplification but I agree with the intent. Blind extreme capitalism applied to every situation doesnt work. Absolutely. But thats very different than blaming the rich for the ills of the world. The poor and middle class are often doing the same evil crooked shit to take advantage of people financially. The rich assholes are just the assholes that are good at assholing :)
