@saxnot @freemo Did you ever own a pet? I could tell you hundreds of stories that are heart warming or breaking concerning our pets. They play, they feel pain and joy. They want to socialize and be loved. Not solitary animals too much but animals kept in herds are social animals.
@freemo @Nikita @saxnot

I love dogs and cats. But I'd eat them if I were hungry enough.

@billstclair

If i only had 15 years left to live and had a puppy I'd sacrafice myself to save that puppy. Mostly because I have no doubt that a puppy, any puppy, will do far greater things in this world than even the greatest human could hope for.

I probably have only 15 years left to live, though I could last for 30, if I follow my mom's side of the family, not my dad's. I would NOT sacrifice myself for a puppy, nor would I sacrifice myself for a million people I don't know, but I WOULD sacrifice myself for my children.

@billstclair

Well points for honesty, and I'm sure many feel the same.

All I know is my puppy (she passed now) **Was** a child as far as i was concerned, absolutely equivelant to a human child in every way except life span. Presuming lifespan were the same I would have saved my puppy and sacraficed a nephew or even myself in a heart beat, likely without even thinking.

@freemo @billstclair @saxnot @Nikita Yeah, I consider my cat to be my family.

I don't have any other family in Israel.
