@freemo The word gets out. Once people join and get comfortable, they might tell friends and a new wave might come. It's nice to know. 😃
@design_RG It happens a lot actually. Often we see primary waves of people moving from fb or twitter to mastodon as a whole Then usually a few days later QOTO sees a smaller wave of people moving from their first instance to us (once they know what we are about).
I usually take it as a sign that #QOTO is making the right sort f decisions.
Yes, I agree that you are doing great.
I followed a thread at another instance earlier this morning, and DMed a user there who was looking for longer post limits among other things. He was grateful and should be coming check out qoto soon.
Lucky for me I found qoto right off the bat, after reading the Mastodon listing of instances and liking what I saw in the qoto listing.
@design_RG All are welcome here :)
I started QOTO shortly after I arrived at the fediverse. I started at M.S as a hope to avoid the censorship that twitter seemed to handle so unfairly. But after seeing M.S banning and silencing people left and right with less discretion than twitter I was about to leave the fediverse.
Thankfully I decided to found QOTO instead and I hope to make it the sort of haven I myself wanted.
@design_RG Thank you, in the end its the users who make this place great. Moderating it has always been pretty easy considering how large we are. Most people have always been very respectful and once you have that as a base it perpetuates itself for the most part.
In fact when we do deal with ay sort of drama it is almost always coming from some user on a different instance.
