Hows the new upgrades treating everyone? Would love to hear some comments, particularly if anyone is struggling to learn the new features or having issues.
@erik You go to your preferences and its under followers the feature is called Domain Subscription.
Go there, add the name of the server (leave off the https:// part)
@freemo Amazing! This is the feature I was most waiting for on Mastodon! How did you do it?
@erik Had to hack/modify some code that was in a japanese server I found. Took a lot of refactoring of the code but managed t get it working here.
Glad you enjoy it, I have wanted this feature for a while too.
It means it creats a special list where all posts federated from the server go. You can look at the list or pin it as its own seperte timeline on the interface. This lets you not just have a column for the local timeline of your own instance but aso the local timeline from other instances too.
@freemo For now I lack the necessary experience to volunteer in any meaningful way... also ruby? naaah, unless I'm getting paid for it.
@namark Ruby is alright, why what would you prefer?
@freemo c++ ... everything must be written in c++ ... why no cheap hosting provider let me c++?? that's why I'm client side(also it's just more fun). Do you want qoto frontend to be rewritten in c++? it'll take measly 50 years...
@freemo How do you subscribe to an instance? I can't seem to find it, but I'm very interested in that feature ;-)
