We should discuss and try to propose something.
When someone deletes or delete/redraft a post halfway thru a thread, the rest of it goes into limbo.
I would suggest it should be posted to whoever is the next Toot in the topic -- keeping all below intact.
I am quite tempted to use Delete/Redraft as a moderation tool, when people hijack threads, to be honest. One of those weak areas in mastodon, since they model themselves on Twitter.
A Forum mod would quickly deal with wayward posts, like I do on our Discourse Forum. Miss that, badly.

@design_RG but we can only delete and repost our own posts not someone elses. so not sure how that helps us moderate
