@freemo I got a login name and created thcpassword but mow the system keep saying wrong password. I eventually joined qoto.org and got on that way.
@morne You cant just join any instance though! Are you a STEM professional?
@freemo I fear I am so behind onthis tech that I dont even know what a STEM prefessional is. I just (greenly) started looking at alternatives to the malicious current social media like facebook and thesorts.
@morne Than I am sorry to tell you that you are in the wrong place.
STEM stands for "Science Technology Engineering and Math"... in short, as a server you are only allowed here if you are a scientist or one of the related categories I just mentioned.
So, almost the whole Fediverse in welcome...
Or does that tell you something about the people I'm following?
There is certainly a large population on the fediverse that would qualify.. but simply using a computer isnt going to cut it either :)

He could be in the "yearning to learn" category. But you're probably right he should find another instance. He is looking for a Twitter alternative.
