@freemo grep your local copy of the bible for "sobriety" the priest is full of crap.
Not that it should be illegal but don't justify it from a religious standpoint.

@swiley Searching the bible now.. 0 hits on sobriety, sober has several hits but none of them are talking about drugs, and none of them seem to claim that intoxication is wrong.

I think the excess use of wine in the bible alone shows that sobriety is not a law, jesus is literally handing out drugs in the bible (wine) that he creates using his christian magick thing he has going.

@freemo @swiley Only Christians can worship a guy and say he was perfect and also say that one of the most noted things he did and enjoyed is a sin that no one should do. Unless it's during Communion. Unless you prefer grape juice.

@kireicake

Well as we covered the bible never claims drinking wine is a sin.

@swiley

@freemo @kireicake Not only that, you're expected to drink wine. It's a "sacrament" like baptism.
In communion you're expected to remember the "last super" Jesus had.
(also this is an exception to my last toot.)

@freemo @swiley Jews do shots of whiskey after Shabbat services. They don't play.

@kireicake @freemo Meh I do shots of Whisky.
Fun fact: Christians don't worship jews and consider them equals.

@kireicake @freemo That's literally the entire point of Christianity.

@swiley @freemo What does Jews doing shots of whiskey after their service have to do with worshipping Jews?

Were you not able to understand that the comment was intended to add to and broaden the conversation by presenting a contrasting approach to alcohol by a related religious group that uses much of the same sacred literature?
