Hot take: The reason that immigrants are taking away our economic opportunities is because the Caucasians were blinded by their racism and malice. So, the immigrants were very uneducated and they had to historically work bad paying jobs. So, these years of racism messed with the intellectualism of our immigrants.
@freemo
So, in other words, the immigrants were uneducated about economic and how to do businesses hence our American system is fucked up.

@Jojothegoodperson I think thats an awfully prejudices view against immigrants that isnt as true as you might think. Immigrants, historically, have been the brightest minds we have had whether it be Tesla or Einstein.

@freemo
But, the reason I made this argument is because Americans messed with the immigrants by racism and made them had very little opportunities for creating businesses. That's why I think immigrants are uneducated but I don't know. I'm trying to say that immigrants weren't used the right way, they were used the wrong way. 😐😐

@Jojothegoodperson Oh you mean once they got here, due to racism, many immigrants became poor and uneducated. Yes on that we agree. The racism of the past put in motion a viscous cycle that is hard to break even now where racism is far less than it used to be.

@freemo
Thanks, I tried my best to make a critical take on American society.
@freemo
I'm being understanding of the problems within my country, I could destroy the country with my words.

@Jojothegoodperson I wish i didnt, but yes :) I do live in the USA as well as the netherlands on and off.

@freemo
And I won't even mention that this same argument could applied to us African Americans hence why we have such a high crime rates and violence within the community.

@Jojothegoodperson I wasnt aware you were African American until just now, not that it makes a huge difference of course. But yea, I'd agree that there are issues internal to the AA community, there are shared issues, and there are issues thrust upon you, all of which ultimately give rise to all sorts of problems.

The crime rate of the AA community is a tough one because in part it comes from what you said earlier, racism of the past has caused a lot of harm in terms of things like lack of education or even just psychological abuse that ultimately gets passed down between generations.

@xarvos

I dont know if this is offensive or not. But I know when I was younger the kids that were black-white mixed in my friend group were called "oreos".

@Jojothegoodperson

@freemo @xarvos
So, next time alt right bitches say that blacks are causing a problem in our country, just tell them that you historically dehumanized them to the point of them being developmentally uncapable of intellectualism, hence why is there high crime rates and violence, because y'all had suppressed their freedom and rights for years. Of course, they will be uneducated on our issues.

@Jojothegoodperson

I wouldnt say they are incapable, thats a bit too harsh. Only that the wounds run deep and tend to get passed down and takes a conscious and sizable effort to reverse the damage historic racism has done.

@xarvos

@Jojothegoodperson

We all wish casey was here. There is an easy way to tell when people wish @realcaseyrollins were here. Look around, if he isnt here, then that is that is so.
@xarvos

@Jojothegoodperson @xarvos @freemo Hmm, lemme check the OP

immigrants are taking away our economic opportunities

I actually don’t think that’s the case rn. Our main issue is #COVID lockdowns and supply chain issues.

Caucasians were blinded by their racism and malice.

Close! I think they were blinded of their racism and malice. As a whole, I don’t think most whites completely understood (or understand!) exactly what racism was. They took the civil rights era to mean that they should stop treating black people badly, when in reality, they needed to stop being racist.

So, the immigrants were very uneducated and they had to historically work bad paying jobs. So, these years of racism messed with the intellectualism of our immigrants.

So, in other words, the immigrants were uneducated about economic and how to do businesses hence our American system is fucked up.

I really disagree with this. Immigrants are smart and oftentimes make more money in the #USA than they did in #Mexico, IIRC

Providing examples of what those two would look like would be helpful.

@Jojothegoodperson @xarvos

@freemo @Jojothegoodperson @xarvos

I suppose I refer to modern whites, especially left-leaning ones. For example, some leftists say racist things behind closed doors, but think it's okay because they're not doing anything bad to black people. Others may treat blacks differently than others, but since they're treating them preferentially rather than negatively, they don't think that's racist.

@realcaseyrollins

So in your opinion treating blacks preferentially is still racist and bad and treating them in a more color blind way is preferable?

@Jojothegoodperson @xarvos

@freemo @Jojothegoodperson @xarvos Yes it is! At least if we want to get rid of racism.

If you're treating people differently because of their race, you're being racist.
@realcaseyrollins @freemo @xarvos
I made a mistake, these arguments were from my experience, but I hope I did my best.
@Jojothegoodperson @xarvos @freemo Your arguments themselves weren't bad at all, I disagreed with your assertions. If I agreed with what you said about the current state of things, you make an at least somewhat valid case for a cause.
@realcaseyrollins @freemo @xarvos
So, you're basically saying that my argument sounded aggressive and forced?
@Jojothegoodperson @xarvos @freemo No! I'm saying your reasoning is sound but based on innacurate assumptions.
@realcaseyrollins @freemo @xarvos
Oh okay, but casey, do you think that I am getting better on the fediverse now?
@Jojothegoodperson @xarvos @freemo Yeah! But I'm sure some of that can be chalked up to maturity and you growing as a person.
