I really have little interest in the agenda and swing of criminally bias news organizations or how they want to erroneously retell the story.
I watched every second of the court case, I watched every second of video, and I will not invest one second in the media trying to spin things, I have more than enough evidence to know what happened that the news is going to add 0 value here.
Now if you think the news article presents a valid point or new evidence please feel free to voice it, I will be happy to discuss any talking points. But I find 0 value in media diatribes.
Now to answer your question:
Number of people who died with lax gun laws:
2, exactly the people who should have died, the criminals with a history of violence who were trying to kill/severely injure him.
Number of people who would have died with strict gun laws:
1, the innocent person who was out all day providing first aid to protestors who was killed by a mob of angry thugs who deserved to die fdor trying to kill him but werent because gun laws meant he couldnt have a gun.
@freemo @kingannoy what is your evidence to claim the intercept is a criminally biased news organization
I wasnt refering to the intercept but rather news as a whole. And I was being a bit hyperbolic to use the word "criminally"... though they do quite often lie through their teeth (all of the media) I'm not sure its fair to say its a crime to lie and have bias.
Other than maybe C-span I dont think I've ever seen a news organization with journalistic integrity to any degree anymore.
That said this is a huge tangent and we dont need to get into debating if news agencies are valid or not... If you feel they offer good evidence or make a good point, just share it directly. I have no need to hear a new's spin on it though.

@freemo @kingannoy hmm it seems what you are angry about are opinions and « chroniques » (don’t know the word in English) . In Canada they are legally required to be disclosed as such. Not sure about the USA.
It goes way beyond just opinion, but yes opinion is part of it. Often those opinions are in a vast majority of media straight up lies and misrepresentations. But yea in my view an "opinion" isnt journalism. Though when clearly seperate in seperate sections and labeled as such it may be acceptable if the opinions are done in a factually rigorous way.
In virtually all media (not counting things clearly labeled as opinion) I generally find very little journalistic integrity, its almost non existant. Foreign news is better but even then it leaves little to be desired.
That said, I see no need to read second hand "sources" anyway. We can debate on first hand data just fine.

Just gonna leave this here for thread posterity (though I dont think it is all that relevant other than the fact that he literally was a convicted child molester assaulting a kid and is now the "victim")
@kingannoy@octodon.social
@freemo @kingannoy oh if we are digging up peoples past then from what I heard kr punched a woman before and he said he wanted to kill people right before going to Kenosha, or so is what I have heard
You mean the fight where **She** threw the first punch and he hit back... yea im ok with that, equal rights means you can fucking deck a chick in the face if she hits first.
Also getting in a school yard first fight is not quite on the same level as raping a child, but ok.

@freemo @kingannoy @freemo @kingannoy you don’t get what I’m saying.
All I’m saying is that the allegation are not proven.
Even if the allegations were true, it’s also not a reason to shoot him. As you know, there’s a concept called rule of law. All criminals, even the worst one, are entitled to a trial. And we don’t know whether he did it. The people’s Internet tribunal is quick to cancel and condemn people, without knowing if and what they have done, and its sentences are rarely proportional to the misdeed done.
No need to call louis names, he might be misinformed but he is a good guy.
That said, I agree. The dude raped 5 kids under 11. A minor he was trying to chase down and assault shooting and killing him is probably about the most poetic justice anyone could ask for.
Say what you want but atleast Rosenbaum died doing what he loved... assaulting minors.
