What is the scariest STI/STD you could possibly contract from having sex?

@freemo I’m not really sure. HIV / AIDS sounds like a terrible disease, but children, how expensive is that ?

Well as someone who is gay, I have natural immunity against kids, so I’ll vote hiv.

(This is a joke btw and maybe I would get children when I’m older perhaps through adoption)

@louisrcouture I'm all for adoptions, gay or straight its a wonderful thing to do for a child.

My view on children is having a child is the msot selfish thing a person can do on a planet with this many people and this many problems, especially when adoption is an option.

I love kids, i just dont think having biological kids is what the world needs right now.

@freemo @louisrcouture

I think its good for people to have 1 or 2 kids per couple but not more.

Its good to have genetic diversity.

@twotwenty @freemo yeah I don’t think this is going to be very practical to me to try to conceive biologically with my future husband

@louisrcouture

The world has plenty of biological diversity, i only see that as an excuse. As long as there are too many people (and that has been the case for way to long) then anyone who has a child is acting selfishly and for the harm of man kind.

Ironically if people stopped having kids it wouldnt take very many years before people could resume again in theory.

@twotwenty

@freemo @louisrcouture

Its not an excuse. I have no children and probably will not have any.

if people had 1 or 2 children per couple the population would go down as well and there would still be enough young people to take care of the old. not enough young people can actually put a strain on other young people.

@twotwenty

The problem with having 1 to 2 children per couple is the population would go down far far too slowly, particularly if its intentional as people will always tack on a few extras.

The world would never get to 0, but if people stop **intentionally** having babies and only the ones that are broken condems and failed birthcontrol then there will be enough of a baseline to fill in the population.

Moreover we arent anywhere near "too low".. So until that rate is down to significantly less than it is then every baby born IMO is selfish.

@louisrcouture

@freemo @louisrcouture

North America hardly has enough to maintain its own population, Canada depends on immigrants to sustain our population.

There does have to be some children regionally.. Then there is who is having babies and good old who's genetics and cultures survive if there are large gaps in certain cultures because they are so nice to others and others that dont care about feelings.. one culture is interrupted that's not great either, kinda like idiocracy if you have seen that beginning of that?.

I do not doubt your good intent and I agree that population is an issue but its more complicated then our desires for depopulation.

to simply say "having children is selfish" is over simplifying.

if everyone stopped having children there would be a age gap and put alot of burden on young workers with to many old to take care of...

maybe it is selfish to want to live beyond the age of 60 ? of coarse I dont believe that either.

@twotwenty

North america hardly has enough? Dude the homeless and jobless are overflowing int he streets. We cant even give work to the people we have let alone sustain more people.

@twotwenty

and no im not suggesting everyone just stop having sex and it drops to 0. As I said the rate right now is way too high even if its going down it isnt going down nearly fast enough. We dont need to get to 0, but we do need to lower the rate, and as long as its too high then every single baby born is selfish.
