How is this any different to normal medications being mixed, doctors need to be careful generally to monitor any problems giving out different medications to patients.
I guess as cannabis isn't prescribed, by doctors then unless he / she knows the patient is using cannabis the can't take this in to account.
Thee are plenty of non-prescribed drug interactions, just take grapefruit ad antibiotics as an example. No one is yelling about banning grapefruit.
I'd venture to guess cannabis is much milder in how it interacts than most drugs honestly.

The way i see it if an employee is acting in a way that warrants a drug test then thet should be fired if they are on drugs or not. If they werent negligent the drug test is moot.

Ah, i think in this case (It was on a consumer programme) the person had a sandwich, the bread had poppy seeds on it, so somehow the person tested positive for drugs.
When the programmed looked in to it, it made sense how this could have happened, but surely a competent person upon being told this, would see what has happened. or actually ask have you had something with poppy seeds on.
Testing suggests an element of mis-trust between the employer and employee.
