It is four points listening the consequences of Eugen’s decision.

Sp I wrote a pretty lengthy blog post entitled: Eugen Rochko, CEO of Mastodon, Found to Support Nazi’s Agenda Sadly I wish it was clickbait. You ...

@freemo I am sorry you’ve had to deal with this situation, but thankful for your efforts. I first heard of QOTO via the official mastodon app, so if I were first joining mastodon today I wouldn’t see this wonderful instance. I hope that Eugen will come to his senses and relist QOTO soon.

Thank you very much for all that you do in helping to run this instance.

@imabuddha I have my doubts he has any intention of coming to his senses. But thanks for your kind words.

@freemo I appreciate your frustration but framing this as Eugen supporting Nazi's agenda is a dishonest argument. You have legitimate greviences but this clickbait titled defaming post does not further your cause.
With regard to your legitimate greviences, what is your call to action? What do you need from us as admins and users?

@greg Sadly many users have asked him to respond and he has been silent other than an email response to me he refused to discuss.

As best I can tell he knew about this Nazi's plan to defederate and delist us, and when it was working and managed to get people pissed at us Eugen's response was to delist us out of popular demand. In the past he has always defended us when it was popular to do so and we have been on the list for 5 years.. nothing changed except for the events described here. So in my mind he knew the Nazi's agenda, and chose to support it because it was winning.

Keep in mind if he had bothered to even engage in a conversation at a minimum my stance and opinion of him might have been very different, but he didnt even grant us that minimal level of respect and now it has escalated.

AS for what I need from you, I'm not sure. Spread the truth about us to instances that seems to have bought the disinformation I guess. Try to talk to Eugen maybe and see if he will be reasonable... I'm not really sure.

@freemo this is a frustrating situation and I'm sorry you're having to deal with it. It's infuriating that the bad actors are having some success. I'm optimistic that their success will be short lived. I'll spread the truth about your instance, I align with your philosophies like enabling subscribing to users without following. Keep up the good work

@freemo First of all, thanks for all your hard work running qoto.

Second, I know it really sucks; it annoys me that qoto.org is on the ban list of some tabletop gaming servers, for no reason listed (other than they copied it from elsewhere).

But you’ve got to learn to only worry about the things you can control, otherwise you’ll just drive yourself into depression.

So what if this Rochko guy is being an arse. People are free to do what they want. I know they are giving in to someone’s agenda, but maybe from their point of view they are just afraid (of reputation). Qoto will survive, despite.

And I’m not sure if succumbing to Godwin’s law is helpful. I doubt the intention is to support them; the motivation is more likely fear … maybe a more accurate headline “Rochko succumbs to demands out of fear” ? (rather than support)

I mean if someone points a gun at me in the street and demands my wallet, if I give it to them it doesn’t mean I support theft. (Even if it turns out to be a fake gun).

@sgryphon the intention is to be popular, supporting them is just the means.
