translunar.academy is apparently not blocked by the chinese firewall, i know it's probably because it's not a huge website but it's so funny to me 💀
@sorrowl their admin blocks practically everyone. they probably block us because she hates the instance I used to be an admin of (disqordia.space), and hates everyone who ever interacted with that instance's creator even one time (for example her current crusade against Calc and all of firefish)

@winter@social.translunar.academy Yeah, I heard something about their feud with Calc, but didn't know they were this aggressive in blocking.

@7666

While im pretty sure mastadon.art is one of the heaviest blocking instances, this isnt very accurate.

The tool is grossly inaccurate simply because if an instance is blocked and then later unblocked, the list doesnt remove it. So the numbers are usually significantly inflated.

You can get an idea though of the real numbers by looking at the timestamps and seeing the last time the block was observed.

@sorrowl @winter

@freemo @sorrowl @winter bud, the VAST majority of those blocks are valid as of today. Like, 97%. That's not "grossly inaccurate". 3% error's pretty decent.

also keep in mind a block is still a block even if it got rolled back by the tyrant's mercy at a later date (paid off? groveled?
@7666 @sorrowl @freemo they never unblock, so while that's true about the tool's accuracy I do trust it when it comes to dot art.
