@georgetakei , to be fair, Hawaii is like Taiwan, if China took Taiwan against the will of the Taiwanese people.

They did take it against the will of the chinese people. May 1684 Taiwan was annexed by china against the will of the Taiwanese people.
Since then it was given to Japan and ultimately given back to china. But at no point did Taiwan join China by its own choice.
