Virtually all arguments on the i ternet are between two people each arguing agaibst a fantasy of what the other person said. Neither side even understands the other let alone is arguing against their actual views

I do find that some arguments where questions are being raised instead of points of view are often enlightening. Too many assume an an all out onslaught on the other's views, which in turn makes the other side rather defensive.

Admittedly, I'm not good at conversation but it does seem questioning the other side in order to make them question their selves seems to be most effective.
