@mian Woulda thought it would be more common there honestly.
@freemo So I found suspenders with hooks but they're a lot thicker than I imagined. Definitely not suitable for wearing under a shirt.

@freemo I can fix you up with high tensile steel wire for the purpose. Same stuff as bra underwiring actually so no trouble.
