I grew up back when all resteraunts had smotking sections. As if smoking on the other side of the room made it safe.
@freemo My local coffee shop has a smoking stall, a glass booth with ventilation to the outside, situated in the far corner of the shop. I’ve seen only three people use it. The tables outside that smoking area seem not to experience any smoke drift as the exhaust fan draws air when the door opens. (I live in Japan. The baristas wear masks as do the customers.)

@freemo It was just a minor annoyance to me. I grew up surrounded by meth labs.
