let me add another answer:
israel didn't just "not do enough". they have gone out of their way to instill as much terror into civilians as possible. killing as many as they can get away with.

1% of the entire population gone... half of those are kids. They have been accused of a long list of war crimes over many years prior and never once showed up at international court.
Israel are absolutely not the good guys here. Not saying palestine are the good guys, they arent either. But they have the virtue of being the ones who are being invaded, not the other way around.
