Unique things... 1+1 = 2 ?... 1 unique thing is never the same as another unique thing!... Oh.... dear... how wrong we look at things!...
So in terms of 2 unique things:
1 + 1 thing never = 2 exactly
(1 unique thing is not the same as the other 1 unique thing and there are lots of 'remainders' or characteristics that are un-ignorable / else you start working towards a bit of the #fascist spectrum a bit like #Maths looks at things)

Typically apples are a 'good example'... to say that 2 tiny things are the same...
BUT EVEN 2 apples are different in shapes, states, locality, insects and ecosystem origins... which if trying to measure as 1 but not measuring 100 other things, you have to agree means the measurement is wrong and ignorant (purely from scientific viewpoint).
The same as I would measure you as "1 person" means eventually you might say "hey I'm not just your definition" , why? Because you are much more than just my opinion of valuation of 1 and your existence, interactions, values as part of everything else or extended interactions IS MUCH MORE THAN I SEE.
Basically all is quite endless and priceless as value - we are part of each other and looking at only 1 small things is often incorrect if not valuing it all especially reducing it into limited-language of #Mathematics.
If you agree apples are not identical then imagine zooming out much more than apples and trying to judge things (like measuring people) and this shows how there is even more difference the more you might try (or as people would like to measure but can't).
As you zoom out or try measure anything more than 2 isolated apples, let's say many apples or many kinds of things.... you are immediately missing out the characteristics and things around + the bigger picture and relativity ignored, both as unique and 'standard' types of ;things; and how "we" the on=-looker are looking at them. (like how a government would look uncaringly unto their peasants)
Summary
Things are mostly unique and also being in a unique time, place, space too makes attempted calculation immediately incorrect / less justified.
Injustice for example can come from me immediately by saying your own this 1 thing. Just a "road worker" and not much more limits your potential.
The goal as I see it, would be to accept the opposite, that you are everything else and full of much more potential than my limited perspective.
