@garyackerman I have a younger coworker that has a more prestigious degree from a research institute, but gets paid less because he's less capable in implementation.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they're interested in growing outside of their academic tenure. So lesser-wage jobs is where they'll be stuck at.
