Man… my year old TV has developed issues! These things don’t last long anymore! It’s just horizontal lines, probably a lose ribbon cable inside, but still!
@hasmis last one lasted about 5 years.
@gpowerf It's luck of the draw. I had an early OLED fail like a week before the warranty expired. Got it repaired (they basically rebuilt the whole thing at my place over a fresh screen and PSU) and that lasted twice as long with no issues.
They're just underpowered all-in-one computers now, so you get the same chances as you do with a weirdly overdone laptop.
But hey, hope you get an effortless repair as a start to a happy new year :)
@gpowerf I'm expecting them to last 5 years, since you would throw the old junk away by that time. The fine old 30 inch colour console tv lasted 30 years, but during a time of zero technical change.
