Do you know what I think the world needs?

Better curated marketplaces. All the main marketplaces , , , , and the ones are full of . There needs to be a view (possibly the default view) with quality, curated stuff that you can rely on being a masterpiece created with real love and not just a crappy game.

And I don’t just mean AAA games (those often are crappy), I mean a list of works of art.

PS: I’ve been using the Steam store a lot because of and wow! It’s terrible what makes it in there.

@gpowerf What I really wish is to be able to block whole publishers/developers on Steam so I won't have to look at those. Shovelware is usually created in mass quantities by a handful of loser developers.

@trinsec agree. I'd go further, I'd auto-block every developer who creates hentai or other cheesy sex games. Sure allow them because Valve will Valve, but make it an option to turn on rather than present users with all that stuff by default. It cheapens the whole platform.

@gpowerf You can already filter out on the user-tags, so just put 'Hentai' in there and you'll see a lot less of that.

I want to add the blocking-of-developers on to of that.

@gpowerf what I miss is the ability to transfer my games from a platform to another. Currently, we must buy the games several times to be able to be able to play it on both Switch and PlayStation, for instance.

@Deuchnord totally agree with that. There are games I've bought multiple times just to be able to do that.

@gpowerf Funny enough, quite a few video game mod/fan game submission sites have pretty much exactly this sort of curation, and are far stricter than any professional marketplace.

For instance, SMW Central is pretty brutal about it, and staff will literally play through the entirety of every hand submitted, and reject it based on poor level design, too many bugs, visual inconsistencies, difficulty spikes, etc.

But I’m not sure game devs would want Nintendo or Valve to do this.

@CM30 game devs would hate for Valve to do this. Valve seems to be all about selling games no matter what... Doing a bit of searching it does seem they have banned at least one game, a game about R***!!!
