There’s no convincing me that these modern emulation based C64s aren’t really cool. I know plenty of people dismiss them as “it’s just a Raspberry Pi running Vice!” and whilst there’s some merit to that comment it doesn’t stop them being cool.

@gpowerf Is the big one with a real functional available anywhere for realistic money? I could imagine using the keyboard for a MiSTer.

Or did I dream a big one with working keyboard.

@breadbin you can pick it up for £120. Which in my opinion isn't a bad price for a brand-new case and keyboard for a project like that.

@breadbin you might find this thread helpful. Essentially the keyboard is USB.

@gpowerf Looks like stock hasn’t recovered in the US. See them for around $300:(

(Ironically I’d be ok with your average random name mechanical keyboard but in a proper C128 configuration. Those $49 type things. But I’ve never seen one. It’s an untapped market, but probably tiny:( )

@breadbin damn yeah, I forgot you guys waited much much longer for them :( they are readily available.

@gpowerf The US is a blessing and a curse in the most extreme ways.

Hopefully they will drop in. Certainly will snag one then. Even if not for the intended purpose:)
