Things I miss about days gone by:

Simple LCD games.

The feeling of going to the arcades.

80s electronics aesthetics with lots and lots of dials and buttons.

Not worrying about health and safety, riding on the back of a pickup truck, being allowed to drive my dad’s Jeep even though I was 13, and riding a horse with no helmet whenever I felt like it.

Summary, I feel old!

@gpowerf

The internet was moreso a frontier, than a playground.

Now, it's a chaotic void that mindlessly consumes everything without any conceivable boundaries.

@lucifargundam I agree. Exploring the Internet in the past felt great! You found people doing amazing things and made life long friends… now 😔

@gpowerf You mention dials and buttons; I have a bugbear about preset EQ levels on what passes for hifi now. I really miss even the basic Bass and Treble dials. 'Flat' 'Pop' 'Rock' 'Classic' etc. is patronising, like we can't be trusted to have exact control over our sound levels?
