One of the things that I’ve done with Mastodon that’s different to how I’ve used other social media is muting and blocking at the first sign of attitude, rudeness, or general negativity in my timeline or notifications.

I’m treating my timeline like a nice garden and pruning weeds as soon as I see them.

I highly recommend it his approach.

@gpowerf Fortunately I’ve only had to do it once since February 👏👏

@retrosponge great 😄 let’s create circles of great people around us.

@gpowerf I like it here. Anyone comes at me with anything but kindness and politeness and they're gone.

@gpowerf
I've been doing the same thing. And luckily, I haven't had to do it a lot here.
I never really did this with Twitter.

I've taken this mentality over to Threads too now and my feed there is miles better than it used to be. Muting accounts obviously engagement farming has been so nice.
