Art style > high-end GPUs and graphics. That’s my take on video game graphics. I think the aesthetic and creative choices of the developers matter more than the technical aspects of the visuals.

@gpowerf Rendering tech is a means to an end. There are visual results you can't get without specific tech, but how good you look within the space enabled by technology is entirely down to art.

I will reframe this a bit: often pushing the technical envelope gets you very little and results in performance challenges that are not worth the return. I think a feeling of comfort and effortlessness is an underrated value of good looking games, especially for Nintendo.
