@Iwillyeah @rastinza When we can we use ripe tomatoes and mix in other surplus veggies, like zucchini. Then we puree it all with a hand blender.
@Iwillyeah @hasmis I know how to make good tomato puree at home, but I don't really know the industrial processes.
The easiest way to know if they're good is buying them and tasting them. I'm not really sure how I'd go about investigating the production quality of several factories spread across the world.
Identifying which cans are good is easy to me, my problem is remembering.
@rastinza @Iwillyeah I might try buying 'peeled tomatoes' and puree them with a hand blender.
@hasmis @Iwillyeah Indeed, peeled tomatoes ensure a minimum quality amount (tomatoes have to be entire). I still do get very bad tomatoes in there.
@hasmis That's nice! I used to make jars when I had a garden and a pressure cooker, now I have to rely on the shops.
Unfortunately I still haven't found a really good can of tomatoes, there are some Italian imported ones which are good, but way too expensive.
