Well, I guess the road is open all the way to West Plains. An 18 wheeler just went by. If they are overweight they come this way to avoid the scales north of West Plains.

@hasmis what makes you say that? It's a twisty winding road but if you want to get to the monastery, it's the only road.

@TheOldGuy It's just that you said the overloaded trucks use it. That tends to break the road.

@hasmis Yeah, I drove it a couple of times but it's not my preferred route to West Plains. But if you want to go down the White River in a kayak there is a rental place half way to West Plains. The road is designated a highway but the traffic consists of about a car every minute between 6:30AM and 7. Plus 6-8 18 wheelers and then logging trucks of which some days there are none and some days maybe a dozen. And then the cars going home in the evening. During the middle part of the day maybe a car every 5 minutes. West of town it's a bit busier, but just a bit.
