Earlier I unloaded on my #therapist all I'd been doing with #Linux the past few days, what my plans are with it, etc. Tried to make analogies that'd hopefully make sense to a non-techie (ie "Linux is the wiring and insulation and so forth inside the walls and in the basement that makes everything work, whereas a desktop environment is the furniture & carpeting & paint job on the walls," " #Mint & #Ubuntu are like houses that have already been built, whereas #Arch is just a foundation and you need to bring in walls and windows and furniture and put it together yourself," and so on.) And now he's talking to me with "You gotta find YOUR Linux, YOUR operating system" and such.
