If you can't keep WiFi on neither Windows or Linux, then it is a hardware issue.
You may try to move around your CPU. Metal, ceramic and paper can make your WiFi reception 10 times smaller or less.
If that's not the issue, I would buy a new WiFi adapter; a WiFi 7 one costs even less than a mouse nowadays. If your router supports it, you may solve all your connection issues at once, and get a nice performance boost to boot. If not, you can always return it.
In my tests, WiFi 6 can give you downloads at even 500MB/s, if you are in the same room as the router. That means being able to download a movie in 2 seconds.
@jgg @elaterite So far I have not had any problems retaining WiFi connection with Mint XFCE.
