I kind of wonder about software 2.0 (ai and logic based systems) and education that teaches people to code. I was lucky to learn a lot of math and AI in school. Most programmers may have a hard time finding work a decade from now.

@jmw150 Meh. People will always pay lots of money for very bad software.

@swiley Which will be mostly bot work because it is cheaper

@swiley but yeah. Doing that kind of set up would take about a week to a month. It would not be a stable source of income.

@jmw150 I think you would be surprised at the trivia people are willing to pay other people to solve.
My girlfriend makes money just unscrewing up people's git repos.

@swiley the 2 million+ people industry of computing cannot survive off of just that sort of thing. Better interfaces will be made. Things can be made idiot proof.

@jmw150 The three hundred million + population of the US survives off of stupidity like this.

What do you think interns majoring in business do?

Follow

@swiley I am giving a prediction based on current research papers that I am reading. I do not have to defend it to a bullet proof degree, and would not really have a method to do so. So we may never agree.

Maybe things will be fine. Maybe everybody can enjoy a star trek money free existence and do nothing of importance all of their lives, just breed and consume resources forever.

Or maybe people are dicks, and everyone is eventually fucked if they do not own stock in companies.

AI can fake anything from art to help desk work. I do not care enough to pay for the real thing. Do you?

@jmw150 A well written static manual can "fake help desk work" and computer generated art has existed since the 80s.
If you look at what you're saying carefully you can see Karl Marx saying the same thing in the 19th century. None of this is particularly new and people will continue to get paid to waste time.

@swiley You haven't read Karl Marx. Stop being such a brainlet.
